PRESS RELEASE

So You Think You Can Dance?’ semi finalist Bethany Rose Harrison to perform at the Dunsford Show on Saturday 2nd July

For immediate release: 20 JUNE 2011

Bethany Rose Harrison s
tar and semi finalist of the BBC 1 series ‘So You Think You Can Dance?’ will be performing at the 2011 Dunsford Show on Saturday 2nd July.

The 20-year-old jazz dancer and dance teacher will perform a dance routine devised especially for the show, as well as signing autographs.

The show raises funds for the Dunsford Community Primary School a lovely small village school where Bethany Rose was a former pupil; her proud parents still run the village pub The Royal Oak.

The show will also feature a fabulous stunt motorbike display by the Moretonhampstead Motorbike Display Team, which includes riders as young as 5 as well as experienced stunt cyclists.

There will also be horse and dog shows, stalls, skittles, coconut shy, two great raffles and children’s entertainment, including sumo suits, as well as tea, cakes, beer and a BBQ, together with great, live music from the ever-popular folk band Spin 2. A great family day out!

"I am so excited to be opening the Dunsford show. I grew up in this small village and the support from everyone has been overwhelming. Dunsford Primary School always encouraged me with my dancing so i feel very honoured to be doing this so many years after I’ve left. I will be doing one of my dance routines, which will be a slightly different one from what I’ve done on the show, as it will be nice to show people something they haven't seen before. So I hope people will come along to watch and have a great day out."

THE DUNSFORD SHOW - SATURDAY 2ND JULY 2011

For immediate release: 16 MAY 2011

The Dunsford PTA [Parent/Teacher Association] has been hard at work with the aim of making this year’s Dunsford Show the best yet. So if you are looking for a great day out why not put it in your diary?

One of the highlights this year will be the Moretonhampstead Motorbike Display Team with a stunt motorbike display featuring riders as young as 5 as well as experienced stunt cyclists.

If you fancy turning your horse/pony or dog into a prizewinner why not come along and enter a class or two at the horse and dog shows? The horse show has showing, in hand showing, show jumping and gymkhana classes and the dog show includes classes for ‘Best rescue dog’, ‘Best junior handler’, ‘Best veteran [7+]’ and ‘Best puppy’.

We’ll have loads of stalls to browse and you can also try your luck at the coconut shy, skittles, two great raffles and the tombola. Children will be pleased to know that ‘smack a rat’ and the bouncy castle are back again and there is a new addition of entertainment in the form of ‘sumo suits’!

When you fancy a rest you can enjoy tea, cakes, beer and a BBQ whilst listening to some great, live music from the ever-popular folk band Spin 2.

“The Dunsford Show is a great community event where everyone pulls together for a great cause – raising money for the Dunsford Community Primary School, an excellent small school at the heart of its community. We’re hoping people will come along and support us and have a brilliant day out in the process.” Mike West, Show Lead Organiser.
